As Sligo Grammar School starts a new academic year, we would like to welcome staff and students back and wish them a successful – and Covid-free – year. We especially welcome our new First Year students as well as the many new students who join SGS throughout the other year groups. We also welcome new Staff members to the school. Ms Ruth Delahunty will teach English and Ms Nicole Brady is our new Spanish teacher while Mr Florian White has joined the Maths department. We send our congratulations to Ms Tansey on the birth of Bobby and Ms Cox on the birth of Riordan. We also congratulate Jessica and Mark Greer on their first place in the Mirror Dinghy National Sailing Championship held at Sligo Yacht Club. Well done also to first year student Jessica Reynolds who was part of the County Sligo Challenge Cup team which won the All Ireland Golf Trophy at Clontarf Golf Club. Finally, SGS rugby players Adam Hunter (U19) and Alastair Hill (U18) represented Connacht in Inter Provincial Rugby this summer. Well done to all!
