Well done to our TY Scientists who received special awards for Science projects submitted to the SciFest Regional Exhibition. SciFest is a National programme designed to promote Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths (STEM) in schools. Events are arranged at both Regional and National levels. Our TYs competed at the Regional Level, hosted by IT Sligo. The Fenergo Communication Award was presented to Cameron Kilcoyne, Donnchadh Quinn-Conway and Dillon Hogan for their project “How the Knowledge of Others’ Opinions Affects Your Opinion”. The presentation and organisation of their report coupled with the enthusiasm and confidence of the students as demonstrated in their project video won them this award. The Environmental Award, presented for the best project with an environmental theme went to Cormac Shannon and Lewis Murphy for their project “Haus”. Finally, Louise Casey, Francesca Reddington and Lara Swann were awarded 2nd place in the Intermediate Technology section for their project TapTech. Well done to all our TY’s on their success!
