SGS TY Green Schools group embraced climate Action Week from 11th to 15th Oct by holding a number of “Climate Aware” events. On Monday the documentary “The True Cost” was aired to 1st. 2nd and 3rd years. This documentary highlighted the moral and social issues surrounding the production of cheap clothing. During the week class tutors used the search engine Ecosia to share a short video clip on the work of Ecosia. This is a search engine that donates 80% of its profit to non-profit organisations that focus on reforestation. You can watch the clip on

The Green Schools students also gathered “Climate Pledges” from students from all class groups. Finally the TYs all went out onto the Astro turf pitch to spell out a message – “Plant Trees” which was photographed from the top floor classroom.
