Christmas is nearly here and everyone in SGS is looking forward to the break after what has been a difficult term. We have been fortunate to have come through relatively unscathed by Covid-19 with only a very few” Covid Casualties” . The school has tried to maintain a level of “normality” this Christmas by holding many of the usual activities. The Christmas Jumper Day in aid of Self Help Africa raised €545 which will pay for the planting of over 3,000 trees. The Annual Christmas Food Collection in aid of Sligo Social Services was organised as usual with a great response from our students, staff and families. Unfortunately it was not possible to hold our Christmas Carol Service this year but special Christmas Assemblies were held for the students in Calry Church. As ever the staff and students have taken the opportunity to decorate classrooms and corridors with Christmas trees, lights and decorations, adding Christmas cheer to the school. Some photos are HERE. And a video made by TYs is here too!
