Christmas Jumper Day

Friday 9th December saw the annual Christmas Jumper Day. Students and staff were invited to wear a Christmas jumper – or whatever festive article of clothing they could find. Santa hats, Christmassy jewellery and head wear, jumpers, of course, and even full Christmas suits all made an appearance. A great festive atmosphere was created around the school, and all those participating contributed €2 to Self Help Africa. This is a charity dedicated to combating the devastating effects of climate change in Africa through their “Another One Million Trees” campaign. They are aiming to plant trees across the continent to encourage biodiversity and to try to replace what has been lost through deforestation. Last year SGS raised enough money to plant 3225 trees across Uganda. Hopefully we can repeat this fantastic contribution in the global fight to combat climate change. See some photos HERE.
