As the school rugby season kicked off this month, Sligo Grammar School Senior Rugby Team was delighted to accept this year’s Senior Team jerseys from our main sponsors Callan Tansey Solicitors. On Friday 16th September, Niamh Ní Mhurchú and Brian Gill, partners in Callan Tansey Solicitors, presented the set of jerseys to the captain of the Senior Team, Conor Creaven. Also accepting the jerseys on behalf of the whole team were the seven members of the Senior squad who were selected to be part of the U18 Connacht Rugby Team for 2022. Ambrose Bamber, Gerard Murtagh, Earl Norris, Conor Creavan (captain), Diarmaid O’Connell, Dylan McCloat and Arann Platt, all Connacht U18 players, are pictured here with Niamh Ní Mhurchú and Brian Gill of Callan Tansey Solicitors. Also pictured is SGS Deputy Principal and Director of Rugby, Jimmy Staunton. Absent on the day was our eighth Connacht U18 player, Max Hunter. We wish the SGS Rugby Teams all the best in the coming season.
