Nine Lessons and Carols
On Tuesday 22nd December Sligo Grammar School will hold its annual Carol Service. The service will be held in Calry Church on The Mall at 11am.
The Service is open to the public and everyone is warmly invited to come along and enjoy the occasion, joining us for refreshments in the school afterwards. As in previous years a collection for Sligo Social Services will be taken up at the end of the service.
This year’s carol service continues a long tradition in the school. It will follow the traditional format of Nine Lessons and Carols featuring the school choir.
After many years as director of the choir, Mr. Alf Potter will be stepping (slightly) aside to allow Mr. Jonathan Carter assume the mantle of director. Alf will however still be involved, assisting Jonathan and serving as organist for the occasion.
As ever, the Carol Service promises to be a lovely start to the Christmas season.
