Sligo Grammar School on RTE

On Sunday October 11th Sligo Grammar School hosted RTE’s Sunday Service.
Teachers and Students travelled to the RTE studios in Donnybrook to record a special Harvest Thanksgiving Service.
The service was lead by Canon Patrick Bamber, Chaplain of Sligo Grammar School. He was assisted by Mr. Damien Shorten. The congregation was drawn from the school body, and included students and teachers. Lessons and prayers were read by Mr. David Johnston, teacher of English, Mrs. Ruth Galbraith, History teacher, the Headmaster, Mr. Michael Hall, the Head Boy and Head Girl, Fionn Carty and Melissa Cryan and the Deputy Head Girl and Head Boy Nell Kelly and Liam Bell.
The school choir and musicians provided the music. The choir was prepared and directed by Mr. Jonathan Carter, assisted by Mr. Alfred Potter. Musicians were led by music teacher Mr. Keith O’Donnell.
Preparation for the Service was very much a whole-school effort, drawing participants from across all year groups.
The Service was aired on RTE 1 on Sunday 11th October at 11am
