On Monday 11th March Sligo Grammar School welcomed choristers from St Mark’s School, Massachusetts, USA, to Sligo. The American school is on a tour of Ireland , visiting Galway, Limerick, Dublin, Cork and of course, Sligo. St Mark’s is a small, Episcopalian boarding school in the Eastern United States. The students , their Choir Master, Chaplin and one of their teachers attended a special whole-school Assembly in Calry Church and sang for the school, while Chaplin, Rev. Barbara Talcott, read from “The Confession of St Patrick” to mark the approaching National Holiday. In return our own Grammar School choir sang for the visitors and the whole school. It was a pleasure to welcome the students and staff of St Mark’s to Sligo.
