Last month the Sligo Grammar School Choir went on their first cultural trip abroad. The destination was Krakow, Poland, where they performed in two concerts, one in a Cathedral in the heart of the city. The audiences were very appreciative and the choir enjoyed the experience. As well as singing the choir were taken to see places of cultural and historic interest, including a sobering trip to Auschwitz concentration camp. They also visited the Jewish Quarter, Wawal Castle and the Salt Mines where they sang in the underground chapel. No school trip would be complete without a visit to an activity park and this was no different! The students spent hours of fun in a water park and a trampoline park. The trip was a great success for the students involved and a huge thanks goes out to Mr. Carter, Mr. Potter and Ms. O’Neil for giving up their time to take them.
