On September 22nd staff and students from Sligo Grammar School travelled to St. Patricks Cathedral in Dublin to attend a special service to mark the beginning of the new school year. The service of Choral Evensong was presided over by the Archbishop of Dublin and the government was represented by Dr Leo Varadkar, the Minister for Social Protection. The address was given by Dr Tony Bates, CEO of Jigsaw, an organisation dedicated to promoting good mental health among young people. He spoke to the students about coping with life’s ups and downs. Prayers were read by students and Juno Ellison represented Sligo Grammar School.
